It is necessary

    • pears - 1 kg;
    • granulated sugar - 1 kg;
    • water - 3 glasses.

Instructions

Step 1

Choose pears. For seaming, you should use summer and autumn, which grew in the open air, and not in greenhouses. They have a characteristic honey taste and a persistent pleasant smell. It is from them that the most delicious, aromatic, and most importantly healthy jam is obtained.

Step 2

Go through the fruits. All pears should be ripe and whole, free from flaws and wormholes. Otherwise the jam may explode.

Step 3

Thoroughly wash the fruit under running water and remove the ponytail and pits. It is better not to remove the peel, as it gives the jam a special piquant taste.

Step 4

Cut the pears into pieces. They can be small or, conversely, large - it all depends on your desire. However, jam with small pieces is easier to eat.

Step 5

Pour the sliced fruit in slightly acidified boiling water and leave in it for 10 minutes. After that, the water must be drained, and the pears must be cooled to room temperature.

Step 6

Put the water on fire and add sugar to it. Then bring the syrup to a boil, making sure to stir it from time to time to completely dissolve the sugar.

Step 7

Pour the resulting syrup over the pear pieces and simmer until the fruit lightens. This will take 30 to 40 minutes. At the end of cooking, you can add a little citric acid and a couple of grams of vanilla sugar. These ingredients will give the jam an interesting taste and pleasant aroma.

Step 8

While the pear is boiling in syrup, prepare the jam containers. To do this, sterilize the jars and lids for 10-15 minutes. It is best to use cans of 0.5 or 0.7 liters.

Step 9

Pour the prepared hot jam carefully into the jars and roll them up. Place the containers with the lids down in a dark place and wrap them up with a blanket, leaving in this position for a couple of days.

Step 10

If desired, you can add a small amount of other fruits, such as apples or oranges, to the boiling jam. They will give the jam an extra flavor. Or you can also put a slice of lemon in each jar.
