Cabbage stewed in Belarusian - these are the same lazy cabbage rolls, only with a different cooking method and, accordingly, with a different, completely new taste.
Ingredients:
- 0.1 kg of rice;
- 0.5 kg of white cabbage;
- 0.2 kg minced pork;
- 100 ml of water;
- ½ onion;
- ½ carrots;
- 1 bay leaf;
- 1 tbsp. l. Sahara;
- 1 tbsp. l. 6% vinegar;
- 2 tbsp. l. tomato sauce;
- 1 tbsp. l. ghee;
- 2 tbsp. l. sunflower oil;
- ½ tsp peppercorns;
- ¼ h. L. salt.
Preparation:
- Rinse the rice until the water is transparent, add clean water (keeping to a ratio of 1: 2), boil and cook for about 20 minutes until semi-cooked using minimum heat.
- Cut half the onion into quarters and fry until golden, using 1 tbsp. l. sunflower oil.
- Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, add to the golden onion and fry for another 5 minutes, then turn off and remove from heat.
- Finely chop the cabbage and place in a deep frying pan. Pour water there and throw the bay leaf, pour all 1 tbsp. l. sunflower oil, sprinkle with pepper and simmer for half an hour over low heat.
- After half an hour, add vegetable frying, tomato sauce, vinegar, salt and sugar to the stewed cabbage. Stir and simmer for another 5 minutes over low heat.
- After this time, put boiled rice into the cabbage mass. Mix everything again and simmer again for 5-7 minutes.
- Melt a piece of butter in another skillet. Put the minced pork in the ghee, mash it with a fork or crush, season with salt and fry until tender.
- Pour the fried meat mass into a frying pan to the cabbage, mix everything and warm it up well. Then scatter in portions on plates and serve.
- Cabbage stewed in Belarusian style can be used as a side dish or as a main dish. Therefore, it is recommended to serve it with sour cream and fresh vegetables.
