Crispy, soft and warm. Great bread with herbs and garlic. Ideal for borscht, hodgepodge or mashed potatoes.

- -6 large cloves of garlic, chopped
- -1 tablespoon dried parsley
- -1 tablespoon dried oregano
- -1/2 tsp kosher salt
- - sprinkle with ground black pepper
- -1/2 cup olive oil
- -1 large loaf of fresh Italian bread
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 240 degrees. Prepare all ingredients and work surface.
Step 2
Add all ingredients except bread and butter to a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat for 3-5 minutes or until the garlic is completely cooked.
Step 3
Slice the bread in half horizontally and spread one half with butter. Spread the garlic and herbal mixture over the other half.
Step 4
Cover the bread and wrap in foil. Bake on the middle rack at 240 degrees for 5 minutes. Then open the foil and continue baking for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
After cooking, remove the foil and cut into slices. Serve with soups, mashed potatoes or stews.
