Futomaki are delicious rolls in the form of a mosaic. Cooking them is not more difficult than usual, but they turn out to be much more interesting. Can be served as an original Japanese snack.
It is necessary
- - 300 g of boiled rice;
- - 2 sheets of nori;
- - 1 cucumber;
- - a piece of ham, a few crab sticks;
- - lightly salted salmon;
- - wasabi, soy sauce.
Instructions
Step 1
Boil the rice in advance until cooked, so that it looks more like sushi rice, pour 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar with salt and sugar into it.
Step 2
Cut one sheet of nori in half along the grain. Then everything is very simple - we will proceed as in the preparation of ordinary rolls. Put boiled rice, some wasabi on the nori strips, roll. You will get a small sausage - cut it in half lengthwise. Do the same with the second roll.
Step 3
Take a whole sheet of nori, place one roll cut into two parts to each other with "backs", put the filling on top - strips of fresh cucumber, lightly salted salmon and crab sticks. Of course, you can change this filling to your liking. Place the other two pieces of the roll on top of the filling.
Step 4
Roll everything into one sheet of nori using a bamboo mat, flatten the sides slightly like the sides of a square. Unfold the rug, and cut the roll into portions.
Step 5
That's it - the futomaki are ready, serve them with wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce, so you don't stray too far from Japanese tradition. These delicious mosaic rolls can be prepared at home, and most importantly, you can experiment with fillings.
