Try adding wild rice to classic American pancakes: I guarantee you will be surprised by the slightly unusual, but pleasant taste!
It is necessary
- For 3 servings:
- - 0, 5 tbsp. wild rice;
- - 1 and 3/4 st. milk;
- - 1, 5 Art. flour;
- - 1 tbsp. baking powder;
- - 2 tbsp. Sahara;
- - a pinch of salt;
- - 1 tbsp. ghee;
- - 0.5 tbsp. vanilla extract;
- - 1 egg;
- - butter and maple syrup for serving.
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to boil the wild rice. Keep in mind that it takes a long time to cook - almost an hour - so it is better to cook it in advance (you can even cook it in the evening if you want to pamper homemade aromatic pastries in the morning). Salt and sugar should not be added during cooking.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a spacious container with baking powder and a pinch of salt, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and mix well.
Step 3
In a separate container, mix the milk with the egg, add a little vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Pour the mixture of liquid components of the dough into dry with continuous slow stirring with a spatula. Try to avoid the formation of lumps in the dough and achieve absolute uniformity. Then on a spoon, stirring well each time, start adding the cooked and cooled rice. You can add more rice or less - here, focus only on your taste!
Step 5
Lightly grease a good nonstick skillet and heat over medium heat.
Step 6
Spoon the pancakes on top of it and bake until golden brown on each side.
Step 7
Place the pancakes in bowls, top with a slice of butter and top with maple syrup (can be substituted with honey). Enjoy!
