It is necessary

  • Ingredients for the split mold (20 cm in diameter):
  • For the cake:
  • - 6 large eggs;
  • - 280 gr. Sahara;
  • - 225 gr. melted butter;
  • - vanilla pod;
  • - 230 gr. flour;
  • - a teaspoon of baking powder;
  • - 160 gr. ground almonds.
  • For orange confiture:
  • - 180 gr. Sahara;
  • - 2-3 oranges;
  • - 100 ml of water.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the oranges into thin circles with a very sharp knife. In a saucepan, dissolve sugar and water, lay out the orange circles, boil over medium heat for 10 minutes. We put it aside.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 180C. We generously grease the detachable form with butter, cover the bottom with confectionery paper. We spread orange circles in the shape: in two layers at the bottom and in one layer in diameter. This must be done very carefully, since the appearance of the cake after baking depends on the oranges.

Step 3

Beat eggs with sugar and shavings of one vanilla pod with a mixer. When the volume doubles, add flour sifted with baking powder, pour in melted butter and pour in ground almonds. Knead the dough very carefully with a wooden spatula so that it does not decrease in volume.

Step 4

Pour the dough into the mold as carefully as possible so that the oranges do not shift. We bake for an hour in the oven, check readiness with a wooden toothpick, if necessary, increase the baking time.

Step 5

Let the cake cool down a little, separate the mold, turn the cake over with the dish and remove the bottom of the mold. We try not to spoil the appearance of the cake with sudden movements.

Cover the cake with the syrup left over from the oranges. Dessert is ready!
