Mono-diets are gaining more and more new supporters: the process is clear, fast and very budgetary! But is it really so?

What could be easier than sticking to a mono diet? There is no need to memorize food combinations, count calories and make a menu. By the way, you don't need to cook either: I bought myself, for example, several packs of kefir, and no dirty pots! Yes, and you need to hold out on it quite a bit, which especially attracts not too strong-willed people … But behind all these advantages there are serious disadvantages:

Simplicity

In order to understand the principle, you do not need to re-read a ton of literature written in a language that is not always clear to the average person. In addition, you do not need to do calculations and look at food labels with a magnifying glass, looking for nutritional and energy value, as well as decipher supplements with an "E" index. In a mono-diet, there is only one rule: "within 72 hours there is only one product (of course, healthy and low-calorie) until satiety."

But the impression of the complexity of proper nutrition is greatly exaggerated! Of course, you can't do without a certain knowledge base, but if you purposefully sit down and devote time to this, you can perfectly cope with the task of making the right menu! In general, it is also based on one rule: "Eating 5 times a day in small portions of non-sweet and non-fatty foods."

Fast results

When it is urgently necessary to fit into your favorite dress after a busy vacation, it is not up to the words of nutritionists that "you need to lose weight slowly." And here - in less than a week you will get rid of at least 2 kilograms! Sounds tempting, doesn't it?

But in fact, these 2 kilograms will return as soon as you start eating as usual. Moreover, it will be much more difficult to dump them: our body is designed in such a way that the more often it is deprived of something, the more carefully it stores it. As a result, you can start to swell literally from that very fat-free kefir.

Stunning effect

Do you strive to throw off as much as possible in a short time? And then there are such tempting promises: "2 days on kefir and 5 kg as it happened!". Of course, when you talk about weight loss, you mean fat, but …

You will lose water. When the water reserves are used up, the body will take up the energy stored from carbohydrates, and then the muscles. Only then will he begin to get rid of fat.

But there is something useful in every product!

Each mono-diet praises its product, endowing it with the whole spectrum of useful properties: they say, it burns fats, and restores the work of the gastrointestinal tract, and removes toxins, and promotes vivacity … And proteins, and a minimum of fats, and carbohydrates, and vitamins, and fiber - everything is with him!

But the nutritional value is inherent even in the station pies, and they also contain proteins, and fats, and carbohydrates, and even minerals and vitamins. But a person should receive vitamins, minerals and nutrients in a complex: firstly, because they are all necessary every day for normal life, and secondly, because individually they are poorly absorbed (or not absorbed at all).

Serving size unlimited

Another "plus" is the unlimited portion size: you obviously won't have to go hungry. Just a rumble in my stomach - we immediately send a couple of glasses of kefir or a plate of buckwheat there …

But your favorite product will become boring by the end of the day, even if it is your favorite chocolate bars. The mood will drop, everything will become a burden, and the chance to eat from the belly in the nearest bakery will increase. After even a small restriction in food, such a "zhor" can end very badly!

As a result, a mono-diet is a quick way, but ineffective. It is much wiser to stick to proper nutrition all the time, and it is not as difficult as it seems at first glance!
