It is necessary

  • - apples - 2 pcs.
  • - walnuts - 50 g
  • - honey - 2-3 tbsp.
  • - cinnamon - to taste
  • - berry juice - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

Step 1

Take two medium-sized sweet apples, peel them and grate them on a fine or coarse grater. Let the grated apples stand in the air to darken. The brown pulp looks more like raw clay.

Step 2

Also grate the kernels of walnuts on a fine grater. You can grind them with a blender, but it is better if you get separate low-fat flakes, and this is possible only with manual processing of the fruit.

Step 3

Mix apples and nuts, add enough honey to make the mass thick and viscous. Jews, according to the Passover Seder, dip bitter greens into a sweet apple mass.

Sprinkle cinnamon on the dish to taste. You can do without this spice, haroset is already tasty and fragrant.

Step 4

Traditionally, red wine is added to the dish. But we have a fast, which means that wine can be replaced with berry juice. For example, blackcurrant juice or blueberry juice. Stir the charoset again and serve the dessert to the table.

Haroset is not only suitable for fasting Orthodox Christians, but also suitable for vegetarians, vegans and people who adhere to a raw food diet.
