Quick French casserole

This delicious potato casserole is perfect for a party table. Serve it in the form in which the dish was prepared, separately serve the salad of fresh or pickled vegetables.

You will need:

- 800 g potatoes:

- 1 tablespoon of butter;

- 2 onions;

- 160 g of hard mild cheese;

- grated nutmeg;

- 1 glass of heavy cream;

- 1 glass of milk;

- salt;

- freshly ground black pepper.

Wash the potatoes thoroughly, peel and cut into thin neat slices. Rinse them with water to rinse off excess starch. Cut the onion into thin rings. Grease a refractory dish with butter and lay the potato slices and onions in layers, sprinkling each with salt and nutmeg.

The thinner the potatoes are sliced, the tastier the casserole will be. Use a food processor or vegetable slicer.

Mix milk and cream, grate cheese. Pour milk mixture over the casserole, sprinkle with cheese and place in an oven preheated to 180 ° C. Bake without a lid until the potatoes are soft. When the meal is ready, turn the oven power up to 220 ° C to brown the cheese. Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper over the dish before serving.

Mashed potato casserole

The puree casserole cooks very quickly and is ideal for baby food. You can add pre-fried minced meat to the casserole to make it safer.

You will need:

- 8 potatoes;

- 300 g of ready-made minced meat;

- 1 small onion;

- 100 g of cheese;

- 0.5 cups of milk;

- salt;

- 2 tablespoons of butter;

- vegetable oil for frying;

- freshly ground black pepper.

Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water. Drain off the water, leaving about half a glass of the broth. Pour warmed milk and butter into the potatoes, crush the mixture into mashed potatoes. Add salt as needed.

Chop the onion and fry in hot vegetable oil. Put the minced meat on the onion and, stirring, cook everything together. Add salt and pepper.

If you love garlic, add a couple of minced cloves to the minced meat.

Lubricate the refractory mold with oil. Place half of the mashed potatoes, place the sautéed minced meat with onions on top and cover with the remaining potatoes. Place the dish in an oven preheated to 200 ° C and bake for about 20 minutes. Grate the cheese, sprinkle on the cooked casserole and return to the oven for another 5 minutes. You can turn on the grill function to brown the cheese.
