Fruit tarts are one of the most popular summer desserts. Do not limit yourself to the usual recipes. Try something out of the ordinary, like a French plum pie.
It is necessary
- - 1 glass of flour;
- - 160 g icing sugar;
- - 180 g butter;
- - 700 g ripe plums.
Instructions
Step 1
Sift flour. In the bowl of a food processor, combine it with 30 g of powdered sugar and diced butter. As a result, you should get a fine oil crumb. Add cold boiled water and knead the elastic dough. Roll it into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour.
Step 2
Sort the plums, rinse and dry. Cut the fruit in half, free it from the seeds. Put the halves of the plums in a bowl and put them in the cold to keep out the juice.
Step 3
Melt two tablespoons of butter in a thick-walled deep frying pan. Mix it with 120 g of powdered sugar and fry for 3-4 minutes - the powder should acquire a pleasant golden color. Place the plum halves in a skillet and simmer for five minutes, until the fruit is tender and juicing. Thoroughly stir the plums with the sugar syrup so that it completely saturates the fruit.
Step 4
Add heat and, stirring occasionally, simmer the plums until the syrup thickens. Remove skillet from heat. Place the plums in a greased fireproof dish, pour over the remaining juice in the pan and leave to cool.
Step 5
Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out onto a floured board. The size of the round layer should be slightly larger than the shape. Cover the plums with dough, tuck the layer around the edges, make several cuts on top. Place the cake in the cold for 20-30 minutes.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 200C. Transfer the plum pie to the oven and bake until golden brown. Gently flip the finished pie onto a flat dish - the fruit will be on top. French plum pie can be eaten warm or cold. Serve vanilla ice cream, custard, or whipped cream separately.
