Monkey bread, the first description of this recipe appeared in 1950 in an American cookbook. Nobody knows for sure the origin of its name.
It is necessary
- milk - 300 ml,
- granulated sugar - 180 g,
- butter - 100 g,
- wheat flour - 500-600 g,
- dry activated yeast - 6 g,
- vanilla sugar - 2 tsp,
- salt - 1 tsp,
- cinnamon - 4 tsp,
- chocolate, jam, raisins, nuts - optional
Instructions
Step 1
Heat milk to 35-40 degrees. Stir 50 grams of butter, 80 grams of sugar and vanillin in the milk.
Step 2
Sift the flour and add it in portions to the milk, knead with a spoon.
Step 3
Sprinkle flour on the table, continue kneading the dough with your hands until it becomes soft, but not very dense. Leave the dough in a warm place to rise.
Step 4
Melt the second part of the butter, grease the mold, in the rest you will dip the dough. Stir cinnamon with sugar. Top the butter with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Part of the mixture will be needed for further preparation.
Step 5
Use the shape with a bulge in the middle. If you don't have one, put in a jar of peas.
Step 6
From the dough, doubled, tear off a piece, form into balls. The balls should be about the size of a walnut. Put either chocolate or other filling inside the balls. Several balls can be formed empty.
Step 7
Dip the finished balls in butter, then in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Next, put them in a mold, it is unnecessary to press tightly. Leave the prepared semi-finished product to rise for 30 minutes.
Step 8
Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Place the monkey bread pan, bake for 40 minutes. Serve the finished bread for tea or coffee.
