If you like serving hearty meals for lunch or dinner, then meat with tomato sauce can be considered as one of the options. The essential difference between this dish and the famous goulash is that the pulp is not fried initially, but is pre-boiled, and then stewed with vegetables.

It is necessary

  • - beef or pork - 800 g;
  • - onions - 4 pcs.;
  • - carrots - 1 pc.;
  • - bell pepper - 3 pcs. medium size (about 350 g);
  • - garlic - 3-4 cloves;
  • - tomatoes in their own juice - 400 g;
  • - ground black pepper;
  • - hot hot peppers;
  • - salt;
  • - bay leaves - 2 pcs.;
  • - vegetable oil for frying.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the meat under running water, cut in half and place in a saucepan. Pour in cold water so that it completely covers the flesh, and then bring to a boil.

Step 2

Peel one onion and a carrot, rinse and place in a saucepan after boiling water. Cook the meat with vegetables until cooked at a minimum temperature for about 2 hours. Salt the broth 10 minutes before the end of the time and add the bay leaf.

Step 3

After the time has elapsed, remove the pan from the stove and leave for 30 minutes, without removing the boiled pulp from the broth. After that, the meat will need to be pulled out and cut into oblong pieces on a cutting board.

Step 4

Peel the remaining onion heads and cut into thin half rings. Remove the stalks and seeds from the bell pepper and cut into oblong pieces. And then take a frying pan, heat it up and pour in some vegetable oil. First put the pieces of meat, fry them until golden brown. Add the onion and pepper and cook for 2-3 minutes. After that, pour in a few tablespoons of broth and simmer all together for 10 minutes.

Peel the garlic and crush through a garlic press. Transfer the tomatoes in their own juice to a separate bowl and mash with a fork. Then add garlic with tomatoes to meat, onions and bell peppers. Add black pepper, a couple of pinches of hot red pepper and salt to taste. Stir well and continue simmering for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Finally, pour 0.5 liters of broth into the pan, cover and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. When the time is up, meat with tomato sauce can be served along with potatoes, boiled rice, pasta and chopped fresh herbs.
