Fish stewed in kefir
Place 1 onion, finely chopped, in the bottom of a saucepan. Top with 1 peeled and finely grated carrot.
Spread the fish fillets evenly on the carrots. Calculate the amount based on the number of servings required. Season the fillet with salt and pepper to taste.
Pour 1 cup of kefir into a saucepan for the fish and add water. The liquid must completely cover the fish.
Simmer the fish over low heat until tender.
While the fish is stewing, peel the potatoes, boil them and mash them.
Place mashed potatoes on a plate. Place the stewed fish and vegetables next to it. Pour the remaining sauce over everything in the saucepan and serve.
Potatoes with dill and garlic
A delicious side dish for salted herring or sausages can be made from potatoes. To do this, peel the potatoes, boil them until tender and drain the water from the pan. Place a few tablespoons of mayonnaise, a bunch of chopped dill, and a couple of garlic cloves in a garlic press into the hot potatoes. Mix everything with a tablespoon.
