- 500 g minced meat;
- half a cup of rice;
- 1 head of onion;
- half a small head of cabbage;
- 2 raw eggs
- oat flakes - 1 tbsp;
- flour (about 4 tablespoons);
- tomato paste - 2 tablespoons;
- salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash the head of cabbage and disassemble it into leaves. Boil cabbage leaves in salted water. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until tender. You can boil the whole head of cabbage. When the leaves are soft, take out the head of cabbage, let it cool and drain off the water. Disassemble into individual leaves. Cut off the thickened part of the sheet.
Step 2
Prepare the minced meat. Better to take minced meat from 50% pork and 50% beef. Peel and finely chop or grate the onion. Wash and peel the carrots. Rub it on a fine grater. Fry the onions and carrots until soft in vegetable or olive oil. Wash and chop fresh herbs. Boil rice until half cooked. Wash the tomatoes, peel them off, and chop finely. You can grate them or grind them in a blender. If you don't have fresh tomatoes, use tomato paste or ketchup. Peel the garlic, pass it through a garlic press. Combine all these ingredients and mix well.
Step 3
Put the minced meat on the cabbage leaves. Roll the sheets with minced meat into an envelope.
Step 4
Fry the prepared envelopes well in a frying pan or saucepan in vegetable or other oil. If you fried cabbage rolls in a pan, then transfer them to a stewpan or rooster for further cooking.
Step 5
Prepare the sauce. Mix tomato sauce or ketchup with sour cream and water or broth. Pour the cabbage rolls over the mixture so that the sauce barely covers them. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer cabbage rolls for 30-40 minutes.
Step 6
If you have a little time to cook, use the recipe for "lazy" cabbage rolls. Boil the rice until tender. Cut the cabbage into about 4 equal parts, boil. Then grind in a food processor or meat grinder. Add boiled rice, chopped cabbage, grated onion to the minced meat. Whisk in 2 eggs, add salt and pepper to taste. You can also add a handful of rolled oats. Mix the minced meat well and form into patties.
Step 7
Dip the cutlets in flour, fry in a well-heated pan until golden brown. Use vegetable oil or olive oil for frying.
Step 8
When a crust forms on the cutlets, add tomato paste to the pan, add water so that it almost completely covers the cabbage rolls. Simmer over medium heat.
Step 9
You can bake cabbage rolls in the oven or in the airfryer. Grease a baking dish with oil, put stuffed cabbage fried on both sides in a frying pan in a mold, pour sauce of tomato paste, sour cream and water. Cook for about 20-25 minutes.
