Raspberry has a pleasant taste and delicate aroma. At the same time, this berry is an excellent natural medicine that helps to cope with colds. The delicate structure of raspberries requires a careful approach to washing and processing.

Step 1
Carefully sort through the harvested or purchased raspberries. Remove wrinkled, rotten and heavily overripe specimens. If you wash raspberries, which literally fall apart in your hands, then instead of berries you get a gruel that is unsuitable for further processing.
Step 2
Place berries with raspberry beetle larvae in a saline solution before the main wash. To do this, pour cold water into a deep bowl and add edible salt there in a ratio of 1 tablespoon of salt per liter of liquid. Place the berries in the water and wait for the larvae to emerge. Drain the water with worms, and wash the raspberries in one of the suggested ways.
Step 3
Place the berries in a colander or strainer designed for washing fruits. Fill a basin with cold water and dip the raspberries into it for one minute. Then change the water and repeat the procedure. Spread the washed berries on a kitchen towel and dry well.
Step 4
You can clean the berries under a stream of cold running water in a sink or under a watering can (if the fruits are washed in the country). The jet should not be very powerful, and the washing time should not exceed 1-2 minutes. After the operation, fold the berries in a colander or sieve and let the excess liquid drain. It is better to start processing raspberries immediately after they are completely dry.
Step 5
The described methods allow you to clean the raspberries from visible dirt. A more radical washing scheme will help you not only cleanse the berries externally, but also disinfect them. Fill one bowl with cold, almost ice-cold water and the other with hot, but not boiling water. Place the raspberries in a colander or sieve and dip them in each dish for a few seconds. Three contrasting "ablutions" will destroy all parasites living on its surface. This technique is also suitable for other berries with a delicate structure, such as strawberries.
