As a rule, in modern stores, hazelnuts are sold already peeled and even fried. But these nuts are sometimes much more expensive than their "wild" counterparts. In fact, saving on this product and making high-quality processed hazelnuts on your own is not entirely difficult.
Instructions
Step 1
Freshly purchased raw, unpeeled nuts should be thoroughly roasted in the oven. To do this, put the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and put them in the oven, preheated to 180-200 degrees for 6-7 minutes.
The degree of readiness of nuts is determined by the appearance of a characteristic nutty smell.
Step 2
Leave the nuts to cool for 20-25 minutes before peeling.
Step 3
Let's start cleaning the nuts. Here, as they say, all means are good. For these purposes, you can safely use all suitable tools and devices:
-the actual nut tongs;
- garlic press (the nut is laid inside, after which the shell is gently crushed using a mechanism);
- a hammer (wrap the nut in a towel, put it on a thick cutting board and gently hit it until the shell is completely cracked);
-door jamb (walnut, again wrapped in a towel, fits into the space between the door and the door jamb, after which the door closes until the shell crunch appears);
-teeth (who do not mind).
