It is necessary

    • 1 cup semolina
    • 200 g of milk;
    • 30 g sugar;
    • salt to taste;
    • 1 egg;
    • ground crackers or semolina;
    • 2 tablespoons of starch;
    • 1 liter of water;
    • any jam;
    • For piquant semolina cakes:
    • 200 g of sausage cheese;
    • cumin to taste;
    • vegetable oil;

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the base for any semolina balls - semolina porridge. To do this, pour milk into a bowl for making porridge, add sugar and salt to taste, bring it to a boil and pour semolina into the boiling milk in a thin stream, stirring constantly so that no lumps form. Cook the porridge until tender. Semolina porridge for meatballs should turn out to be viscous and thick.

Step 2

Wait until the semolina you cooked cools down a little, add the egg to it and mix the resulting mass well. Next, form meatballs from it with your hands, roll them in ground breadcrumbs or a frying pan in sunflower oil on both sides until tender.

Step 3

Prepare jelly, with which semolina bits are most often served - for this, take any jam you have, dilute it with water, then boil it and, to get rid of the pulp of the berries, strain the compote you have obtained through a sieve. In a separate bowl, dilute the starch with warm water and, stirring, pour into the compote, which is put back on the fire. Cook the jelly until it thickens, remembering to stir constantly. Place the cooked semolina meatballs on a dish, pour them with chilled jelly and serve.

Step 4

To prepare special semolina meatballs called "Piquant" to savory boiled semolina porridge, in addition to eggs, add previously grated sausage cheese and caraway seeds and mix thoroughly this semolina mass. After that, put it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, then remove it from there, shape the meatballs with your hands and put them on a baking sheet, which you grease with vegetable oil. If desired, place a thin piece of sausage cheese on each bite and bake them in the oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes. The degree of readiness of semolina cakes called "Spicy" can be judged by their color - in the finished dish it is amber and appetizing.
