A traditional treat for Shrovetide is rich and tasty pancakes with milk. A simple recipe will help even a novice housewife prepare such pancakes.
Ingredients for making pancakes with milk:
- 1 liter of any milk;
- 3-4 raw eggs;
- 1-2 tablespoons of sugar (more or less);
- about 2, 5 glasses of premium flour;
- 2-3 tablespoons of oil (better than refined);
- 4 g of baking soda.
Cooking pancakes in milk:
1. Pour a glass of milk into a suitable deep container.
2. Pour eggs there, add sugar and salt.
3. Then pour the required amount of oil into this mixture, mix.
4. Pour the sifted flour into the pancake mixture in a thin stream, stirring well at the same time.
5. Add a little more milk if necessary.
6. The rest of the milk should be heated almost to a boiling state, but not letting it boil.
7. Gradually pour the hot milk into the dough in parts, whipping the pancake mixture well.
8. Pour soda into the remaining 50-70 ml of hot milk, mix and also pour this mixture into the dough. It is important to mix the dough very well so that it is smooth and lump-free.
9. Bake custard pancakes in milk in a hot frying pan, lightly greased with butter.
it is better to grease the pan with oil not before each new pancake, but as needed.
