Baking tracing paper is one of those kitchen accessories that are consumed quickly and are never at hand at the right time. If the dough is already on its way, and there was no tracing paper in the house, then you can find a replacement for it with the help of improvised means.
Instructions
Step 1
To prevent the baked goods from sticking to the mold and not burning, you can try to grease them with butter or margarine and sprinkle them with flour, bread crumbs or semolina. For most specialty baking dishes made of ceramic, non-stick metal or glass, this boundary layer between the dough and the bottom is sufficient to make the finished cake easy to remove. You can also choose options with removable sides or use silicone molds, products from which can be removed without any difficulty and for which tracing paper is not required.
Step 2
Silicone is generally a very convenient material that has replaced many kitchen appliances. For example, if we are talking about baking from a dense dough that holds its shape, then it can be laid out on a baking sheet covered with a silicone mat instead of tracing paper. It is not necessary to lubricate such a rug with oil. The baked goods will never stick to it. Silicone mats are also convenient for preparing baked goods, for example, for rolling out dough. The silicone layer will not allow the product to burn, since this material does not get very hot, but at the same time it keeps heat stably.
Step 3
If there are no modern achievements of science at hand, let us turn to folk traditions. Housewives of the older generation often used oiled sheets of paper instead of tracing paper. It could be writing paper or notebook sheets. If they are well oiled with sunflower oil, the paper becomes pliable, elastic and easily takes any shape. Removing baked goods from such paper is quite simple. Oiled paper is often used in baking Easter cakes and various muffins.
Step 4
In some cases, you can replace tracing paper with foil. Spread the dough on the shiny side of the foil paper. If the product does not come off after baking, let it cool down and then remove the foil from it.
Step 5
If you have a baking sleeve, which is a crisp clear plastic bag, you can try replacing it with tracing paper. Initially, the sleeve is recommended to be used for cooking hot dishes from meat, fish, vegetables, but practice shows that it copes with baking just as well. However, before placing the dough on it, you should grease it with a little oil.
