  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 small pickles (if you use gherkins, you need more)
  • 1 small carrot
  • a bunch of greens
  • can of mayonnaise

Cooking method:

  1. Boil potatoes and carrots directly in the skins, then peel and cut into cubes
  2. Chop eggs, sausage (also diced), cucumbers and onions. It is better if all the cubes are approximately the same, so the salad will look more flavorful.
  3. After you have chopped everything up, you can stir the salad and add mayonnaise. Add the mayonnaise gradually so you don't add too much of it. This will ruin your salad.
  4. Try it cooked. There is no salt in the recipe, as the salad includes pickles and mayonnaise, but you can add it at your discretion.
  5. If you are using chicken as a meat ingredient, you can put it in a salad by peeling it off, although it makes the salad more juicy. If you remove it, it will be somewhat dry.
  6. Some housewives make this salad without carrots. Pickled cucumbers can be replaced with lightly salted, fresh or pickled cucumbers. Sometimes pineapple pieces, sauerkraut, sour apples, for example, Antonovka, are added to the salad.
  7. It is better to take onions not white, but red, since white is sharper and more bitter.
