Pour semolina with warm water (about 40-50 degrees) and leave to swell for one hour. The water level should be about 1 centimeter above the semolina level.

If there is not enough time, then the semolina can be boiled in water.

Mash cottage cheese in a bowl with a fork, rub through a sieve or mince. It should be homogeneous, without lumps and not dry, so that the curd casserole turns out to be airy.

Separate the egg whites from the yolks. This can be done using a special device or a spoon. Beat the whites until a thick foam forms. Grind the yolks with half the sugar.

Add the yolks, whites and the remaining granulated sugar to the curd for the casserole. Stir everything well.

Add flour, semolina, baking powder to the mixture. Mix everything well.

Put on a baking sheet, greased with vegetable oil and lightly sprinkled with semolina. Smooth the surface of the curd casserole with a spoon. Grease with sour cream on top, this will prevent the appearance of a crust, and give the casserole a beautiful golden color.

Put the cottage cheese casserole in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes. The casserole can be considered ready when its mass has thickened and baked. Do not open the oven frequently during cooking.
