An oven-baked casserole is a simple but delicious dish that is suitable even for dietary meals. Try a mashed potato casserole. It can be supplemented with other vegetables, mushrooms, minced meat or cheese, but it tastes good on its own. During the baking process, a golden crust appears on the surface, giving the dish a particularly appetizing appearance.
Potato casserole with vegetables
This pie-like dish has a very delicate flavor. It will appeal to those who like a variety of vegetables and mushrooms.
You will need:
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 500 g zucchini;
- 500 g leek;
- 1 large bell pepper;
- 250 g of mushrooms;
- 3 tbsp. spoons of milk;
- 60 g butter;
- 2 teaspoons of ground paprika;
-30 g wheat flour;
- 300 ml of vegetable broth;
- 125 g of cheddar cheese;
- salt.
Boil the potatoes in salted boiling water until soft. Drain the water. Add 30 g butter, warmed milk and half a serving of grated cheese. Mash the mashed potatoes.
Peel sweet peppers from seeds. Cut it and the leek into large pieces, and the zucchini into thick slices. Heat the remaining oil in a deep frying pan, add the leeks and peppers, and fry. Add zucchini and mushrooms, add ground paprika, salt and continue cooking the vegetable mixture for another 5 minutes. Add flour, add broth little by little, stir and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Grease an ovenproof dish with oil and put the vegetable mixture with mushrooms in it. Spread the mashed potatoes on top. Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on the casserole and place in the oven at 200C. Cook for 20-25 minutes until crisp and golden brown. Serve the casserole hot with tomato sauce.
Festive meat casserole
You will need:
- 1 kg of potatoes;
- 500 g minced meat (a mixture of beef and pork);
- 1 large onion;
- 1 large carrot;
- 100 g of cheese;
- 0.25 glasses of milk;
- 2 tbsp. tablespoons of butter;
- vegetable oil for frying;
- salt;
- freshly ground black pepper.
Chop the onion, grate the carrots. Fry the vegetables in hot vegetable oil, then place them in a bowl. Add a little more oil and sauté the minced meat, stirring and breaking the lumps. Salt and pepper the minced meat, mix it with onions and carrots.
Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water. Mash the potatoes with warmed milk and butter until smooth. Spoon the warm mashed potatoes into a roll of oiled paper. Grease the refractory mold with oil, use a funnel to squeeze the puree along the edge in the form of a border. Fill the center of the mold with minced meat, sprinkle with grated cheese. Squeeze the mashed potatoes monogram on top. Place the mold in a 200 ° C oven. Bake the product until golden brown and serve with sour cream.
