Bagels are made from yeast dough, cottage cheese, puff pastry and even potato. The shape unites them all - a little elongated with two curved ends, reminiscent of horns. In German cuisine, there is a variety of small sandwich bagels baked especially for Christmas.
It is necessary
-
- 200 g margarine
- 100 g sugar for dough
- half vanilla pod
- 100 g almonds
- 260 g flour
- 50 g sugar for sprinkling
- 8 g vanilla sugar
Instructions
Step 1
Since these bagels are called "vanilla kipferli", it is obvious that they turn out to be very rich and vanilla. To prepare them, put margarine in a bowl, add sugar, mix together and knead until you get a smooth homogeneous mass. Cut the vanilla pod in half, scrape out its contents, add to the margarine.
Step 2
Almonds can be taken ready-made chopped or grind them with a mill or food processor. Combine nuts with flour, add to a cup of margarine and sugar, knead an elastic dough. Roll the dough into a ball, wrap with cling film or foil, refrigerate for at least an hour.
Step 3
Roll the cooled dough into a 4 cm diameter roller and cut it with 2 cm washers. Roll out a flagellum from each, give it the shape of a bagel.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 190 ° C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, place the bagels on it and place in the oven for 10 minutes. The finished bagels should be light brown.
Step 5
Remove the leaf from the oven, mix the remaining sugar with the vanilla, sprinkle over the hot baked goods. Do not remove the rolls from the baking sheet until they have cooled completely, otherwise they may break. And only when they are cold, you can put them in a tin can, in which these Christmas pastries can lie for a very long time, remaining crisp and fresh.
