Chocolate beet sponge cake

Make a sponge cake with beets and chocolate. You can use it as a base for a cake or for making small biscuits. You will need:

- 2 glasses of sugar;

- 2 cups wheat flour;

- ½ teaspoon of salt;

- 1 teaspoon baking powder;

- ¼ a glass of butter;

- 60 grams of dark chocolate;

- 4 chicken eggs;

- 3 cups grated beets.

Mix dry ingredients. Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Whisk eggs lightly, mix with chilled chocolate and soft butter into a single, smooth mass. Combine the grated beets, wet and dry ingredients in one deep bowl. Mix gently. Place in two 22 cm tins and bake at 160 ° C for 40-50 minutes.

Beetroot halva

Beet halva turns out to be bright and tasty. For her, take:

- 2 large beets;

- 1 tablespoon of ghee;

- 1 box of cardamom;

- 2 cloves cloves;

- ½ glass of sugar;

- a handful of cashew and raisin mixture.

Grate the beets on a fine grater. This should make about 2 cups tightly packed. Melt the butter in a large, wide, heavy-bottomed skillet. Pound the cardamom and cloves in a mortar. Fry the spices until a distinct aroma appears, add the beets and cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat for 7-8 minutes. Pour in some water and cook the beets over low heat, never covering with a lid, until the liquid evaporates.

Add sugar and salt. Stir and cook until the mixture is glossy and dry. Add chopped nuts and raisins. Beetroot halva is ready.
