Potatoes are an essential product in any cuisine. It can be used to make many different dishes, ranging from basic potato pancakes to pies. It is also good in that you can whip up a delicious and hearty dinner from it without making a lot of effort. Choose the spices for cooking yourself. The flight of fantasies over cooking is unlimited. One of the most favorite dishes of the Slavs is potatoes with mushrooms. It does not require any special skills or expensive ingredients. Moreover, it prepares very quickly.

It is necessary

    • salted (0.5 l) or fresh (300-400 g) mushrooms;
    • 1 kg of potatoes;
    • 2 onions;
    • salt to taste;
    • vegetable oil.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel a kilo of potatoes. Rinse it and put it in a saucepan or deep bowl, fill it with cold water for a while.

Step 2

Finely chop two onions and fry them over medium heat until lightly browned and soft. After frying, the onion can be removed from the pan, or you can leave it in it.

Step 3

Take fresh or salted mushrooms and cut them into medium-sized slices. The plates should not be too thick or thin. If the mushrooms are salty, rinse them with cold water.

Step 4

Place the chopped mushrooms in the skillet. Fry over high heat with constant stirring until the moisture has completely evaporated. After roasting, the mushrooms should have a light brown crust. If fresh mushrooms are fried separately from onions, then the juice they release during frying can be drained or evaporated. Mushroom juice can be further used as a sauce.

Step 5

Take the pre-peeled and washed potatoes and cut them into slices about 0.5 cm thick or 1 cm blocks. To prevent the slices or sticks from sticking together during cooking, they should be rinsed with cold water. To do this, you can use a regular colander.

Step 6

Remove the mushrooms from the pan and add the oil. After a couple of minutes, put chopped potatoes in hot oil. Fry it over high heat, uncovered. Cook until crusty. As soon as it forms, reduce the heat and stir the potatoes thoroughly. Stir from bottom to top, with an interval of 3-5 minutes. To avoid crushing the potatoes, stir them with a thin spatula.

Step 7

When the potatoes are almost ready, put the mushrooms, fried onions in it and salt everything. Mix everything and fry for another 5 minutes without closing the lid. Top with a few bay leaves for flavor.

Step 8

After five minutes, turn off the heat and cover the potatoes with mushrooms with a lid. Darken the potatoes for 5-10 minutes.
