Turkey meat is a valuable dietary product that contains many useful substances. Turkey meat differs from other poultry meat by a low fat content, as well as a high content of tryptophan. You can cook tasty and healthy dishes from turkey meat, for example, rolls with different fillings. A turkey roll stuffed with bacon and apples is quite a festive option.
It is necessary
- - 4.5 kg of pitted turkey;
- - 80 ml maple syrup;
- - 50 g butter;
- - orange juice from 1 fruit;
- - black pepper, sea salt.
- For filling:
- - 400 g of apples;
- - 250 g bread crumbs;
- - 150 g bacon;
- - 30 g butter;
- - 1 orange;
- - 1 onion.
Instructions
Step 1
Melt butter in a skillet, sauté chopped bacon, add onion. Next, send the chopped apples to the pan, remove the pan from the stove after 3 minutes.
Step 2
Pour in orange zest from 1 fruit, breadcrumbs, stir, salt and pepper, let this mixture cool completely.

Put the cooled filling on the raw turkey meat, twist the roll, put in a baking dish, brush with pepper, salt, butter.
Step 4
Bake the roll for 2.5 hours at 190 degrees. If the skin turns brown quickly, wrap the roll in foil.
Step 5
Mix the maple syrup with the orange juice and pour over the roll from time to time.
Step 6
Remove the turkey from the oven, brush with the remaining sauce, and put in the oven for another 20 minutes.
Step 7
Cut the finished roll into portions, put on plates, pour over the juice that will remain in the form after baking.
