Marzipan is an elastic mixture of powdered sugar and powdered almonds. It is used for making candies, decorating cakes, or simply as a sweet treat for children. Marzipan mass is widely used in Europe, but in our country, not everyone can say what it is. Meanwhile, making real marzipan yourself is not so difficult.
It is necessary
-
- 400 g almonds
- 200 g sugar
- 200 g icing sugar
- 1 glass of water
- almond essence.
Instructions
Step 1
Take peeled almonds. If you could not separate it from the skin, then you need to lower it in boiling water and cook for 1-2 minutes, then drain all the water and put it on the table to cool. After the nuts have cooled, you can easily remove the skin from them by pressing on the kernel with your fingers. Then you should fry the nuts in a dry frying pan until light brown.
Step 2
Grind the almonds in a blender in a few steps to a powdery state. Transfer everything to a clean bowl. Add the icing sugar and mix well.
Step 3
Heat water and sugar in a saucepan. First, the sugar should be completely dissolved, and then the resulting syrup should thicken a little. You need to cook it, stirring constantly over low heat. Cool, add a few drops of almond essence.
Step 4
Pour the almond / powdered sugar mixture into the syrup in a thin stream. Stir well until a homogeneous elastic mass is obtained. It is more convenient and faster to do this in a food processor. Homemade marzipan is ready.
