It is necessary

  • - ready-made marzipan mass;
  • - ready-made food colors;
  • - vegetable oil;
  • - clear alcohol (liquor, grappa or vodka);
  • - freshly squeezed juices of fruits and vegetables;
  • - icing sugar.

Instructions

Step 1

The easiest way is to paint the marzipan mass with ready-made gel dyes. Get the colors you need. If you cannot find some shades, you can mix them yourself. For example, a combination of red and blue paint will give a purple color, adding a little blue to the yellow dye, you can get green in different shades.

Step 2

If you plan to cut your figurines with molds or make large single-color decorations, color the marzipan before molding. Roll the required amount of marzipan into a ball, make a small depression in it and drip the dye into it. Knead the mass vigorously with your hands. The better the marzipan is mixed, the more uniform the color will be. If the shade does not seem saturated enough for you, add a little more dye and mix the mass again.

Step 3

Prepare different colors of marzipan. It can be rolled out and cut out with cookie cutters. If you plan to sculpt figures using different colors of marzipan, lightly grease your hands with vegetable oil, pinch off small pieces and shape the details. Let them dry a little and assemble the figurine by attaching the parts to each other with honey.

Step 4

You can paint already sculpted figures. This method is convenient when you need to apply a lot of small patterns, draw a face or make inscriptions. Dilute ready-made dyes in a few tablespoons of clear alcohol - liquor, grappa or vodka. Add colorant drop by drop, stirring thoroughly, until you get the desired shade. Prepare the required amount of paints, take a thin paint brush and start painting. Leave the painted figure to dry completely. Top it can be covered with sugar glaze, which will give the colors a shine and keep the softness of marzipan.

Step 5

If you don't like the idea of using chemical dyes, prepare their counterparts from natural products. Orange color marzipan will give carrot juice or orange fresh squeezed together with the zest. A red tint can be obtained by pressing cranberries or lingonberries. The best brown color comes from burnt sugar or cocoa powder. The hardest thing to get a green tone - it is made from blanched spinach, rubbed through a sieve. When preparing natural paints, keep in mind that they give not only color, but also taste, even if subtle.
