If you love poultry, don't be limited to chicken. Turkey meat has a richer flavor and is good for roasting. You can understand this by trying to cook this kind of poultry with a creamy sauce according to a traditional Italian recipe.

It is necessary

  • - 300 g turkey fillet;
  • - 1 onion;
  • - 50 g of mushrooms, such as champignons;
  • - 200 g of green peas;
  • - 30 g of emmental cheese;
  • - 1 egg;
  • - a glass of cream;
  • - 3 tbsp. cognac;
  • - 1 tbsp. flour
  • - 100 g of ham;
  • - 2 tbsp. butter;
  • - salt and pepper.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel the onion and chop finely. Rinse and cut the mushrooms with plastics. Heat some of the butter in a frying pan, fry the onion in it for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms to the onion and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season the mixture with salt and pour in half of the recipe's cream. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook over medium heat until slightly thickened. For this, you can additionally add a little flour.

Step 2

Prepare the meat. Cut the turkey fillet into four sufficiently thin slices. Heat the remaining oil in a pan and fry the meat in it for 5-6 minutes until half cooked.

Step 3

Grate the cheese. In a separate bowl, mix it with the remaining cream, then break the egg there. Add flour, cognac and salt. Beat the resulting mixture with a fork until relatively smooth.

Step 4

Oil a baking dish. Place the fried fillets on the bottom. Cut the ham into cubes and place over each piece of poultry. Then spread the resulting creamy mushroom sauce over the meat. Lay green peas on top, then pour over all this with the previously prepared mixture of eggs, cheese and cream.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Place the dish in it and bake the meat for 20 minutes. You can also cover it with foil to protect it from burning.

Step 6

Serve the resulting turkey with a suitable side dish. This combination is suitable for boiled rice or durum wheat pasta, as well as fried potatoes. As a wine, you can serve white dry, as well as sparkling Italian drinks, for example, Prosecco and Lambrusco.

Step 7

If you don't like cream, replace some of it with chopped fresh or canned tomatoes when cooking. In this case, the mushrooms will be stewed in tomato sauce. Also, when baking, you can do without egg filling, but simply sprinkle the meat with mushrooms and peas with cheese on top.
