The turkey in sour cream is baked in a large form (enough for several hearty servings). To prepare a dish you need:

- 2 kg turkey thigh fillet;

- a quarter of a lemon;

- onion head;

- three cloves of garlic;

- 100 g sour cream;

- a pod of hot chili;

- salt, basil, allspice, pinch of oregano;

- oil for lubricating the mold.

It is good to add lemon juice to portions of turkey meat. It gives the dish a bright flavor and freshness (although you can exclude it from the list of ingredients if it is not available).

It is better to chop the onion into large pieces or rings, chili and garlic - finely. Onions and garlic enhance the juiciness of the turkey, but you should not be afraid of the presence of hot pepper - it is useful even for those who have stomach problems. If desired, you can exclude allspice if the dish seems too spicy.

Pour all the spices and chopped onions, chili, garlic to the meat, salt to taste and mix everything thoroughly. If you have a little time, the meat can be marinated by holding the resulting mixture for about an hour.

Pour sour cream into the resulting mass and mix so that each piece of meat is greased with it. Sour cream adds juiciness and tenderness to the turkey, providing a soft taste.

Put the resulting mass in a greased form and put in a well-heated (about 200 ° C) oven. The form can be left open, then the sour cream will brown, this will not allow the onion to dry out and will not dry out the turkey. In one and a half to two hours, when you hear the unforgettable meat aroma, the dish is ready.

With a rich culinary imagination, the dish can be changed by excluding or adding some ingredients to taste and desire: expand the composition of spices, exclude lemon juice. In the absence of sour cream, but the presence of vegetables (for example, tomatoes), mayonnaise and cheese, turkey in sour cream turns into French-style meat.
