Perhaps everyone is familiar with such a way of decorating cakes as decorating with mastic, but not everyone knows that making mastic can be done easily and simply even at home.
From the mastic, the recipe for which is proposed below, you can create absolutely any decorative compositions for cakes and pies.
It is necessary
- - one glass of powdered milk;
- - one glass of powdered sugar;
- - five tablespoons of condensed milk;
- - a tablespoon of lemon juice;
- - any food coloring (you can also use natural in the form of juice of beets, carrots, etc.)
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to prepare all the ingredients for making the mastic, since you need to prepare it quickly. So, in separate containers measure out a glass of milk powder (you can also use dry infant formula or cream), a glass of powdered sugar (granulated sugar is not good, mastic will not work with it), five tablespoons of condensed milk and one or two tablespoons of beet juice, carrots, etc. (this is in the event that you need to prepare mastic of different colors.
Step 2
The next step is mixing all the ingredients. It is necessary to put the powdered sugar and milk powder in a deep bowl, then add a couple of tablespoons of condensed milk and mix, then add another spoonful of condensed milk and mix again (it is unnecessary to spread all the condensed milk to the cut, otherwise, firstly, the mastic will mix worse, and secondly, - longer).
As soon as a lump is obtained from the ingredients obtained, you need to start kneading the mastic with your hands. As a result, you should get a mass, the consistency of which resembles plasticine.
Step 3
The final stage is the coloring of the mastic. To do this, divide the mastic into several parts (the amount depends on how many shades you want to get the mastic), then add a few drops of fresh vegetable or fruit juice to each piece and mix thoroughly. For example, carrot juice can turn mastic orange, beet juice - pink and red, spinach juice - green.
Step 4
After the mastic is ready, it is necessary to wrap it with cling film and let it lie down at room temperature for at least an hour, only after that you can start decorating desserts.
