Pike is a very tasty fish, although it has a lot of bones. This fish can be marinated in lemon juice or vinegar to get rid of the peculiar smell. An excellent side dish for oven-baked pike will be potatoes, onions or any vegetable dish.

It is necessary

  • - pike (1 pc.) - 600-1000 g;
  • - potatoes - 5 pcs.;
  • - onions - 2 pcs.;
  • - sour cream - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • - mayonnaise - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • - apple cider vinegar - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • - pepper, lemon - to taste and desire.

Step 1

Before direct cooking, it is necessary to prepare this fish: the pike should be cleaned from the tail to the head. Cut off the head, fins and tail from the carcass, make a longitudinal cut, remove the entrails, rinse the fish, and then cut the pike into portions.

Step 2

Dilute vinegar with 1 glass of cold water. Place pieces of fish in this solution for a few minutes.

Step 3

Peel, rinse and cut onions into small thin rings. Wash and peel the potatoes, cut into rings or slices of your choice.

Step 4

Remove the pike from the vinegar solution and wipe it off with a paper towel, and then do not forget to salt and pepper. Place on a baking sheet, which must be greased with a little vegetable oil in advance.

Step 5

Also put onions and potatoes in a baking sheet, salt and pepper. Combine sour cream and mayonnaise in advance, pour this mixture over the fish. You can also add any spices for baking fish or finely chopped dill to this mixture, depending on your culinary preferences.

Step 6

Cover the baking sheet with pike with foil and send to the oven at 180 degrees for about 1 hour. After the indicated time, remove the fish from the oven, transfer to a plate, garnish with sprigs of dill, parsley, lemon slices and serve hot. Now you can appreciate the taste and pleasant aroma of this appetizing fish.
