Casseroles are one of the healthiest, most delicious and satisfying dishes. The combination of various ingredients makes their taste rich and bright, and the baking method is gentle, it preserves vitamins and, moreover, eliminates the harmful effects that are inevitable when frying.

The meatball potato casserole is a great dish your whole family will love. It is suitable for both a small child and an adult man. It does not use any harmful or hazardous ingredients. If the family has small children, then mayonnaise can be replaced with sour cream.

Cooking can be classified as simple, and if you have ready-made frozen meatballs (purchased or stuck on your own in advance), then the active cooking time will be 10-15 minutes.

In addition, you can use your favorite spices in addition to the existing ones or replace them completely.

Ingredients:

  • minced meat - 500 gr,
  • potatoes - 1 kg,
  • cherry tomatoes - 250 gr,
  • carrots - 1 large
  • garlic - 3 cloves
  • semolina - 3 tbsp. spoons,
  • mayonnaise - 5 tbsp. spoons (can be replaced with sour cream),
  • eggs - 2 pcs,
  • onion - 1 large
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons of mustard,
  • salt, pepper - to taste,
  • dill,
  • vegetable oil.

Cooking method:

  1. Three carrots on a fine grater, finely chop the onion, squeeze the garlic through a press or also finely chop.
  2. Saute all these vegetables in vegetable oil until golden brown, sprinkle with turmeric and let stand for a while to cool.
  3. Peel potatoes and three on a grater.
  4. Mix grated potatoes with semolina, mustard, mayonnaise (sour cream), eggs and chopped herbs. Salt and pepper.
  5. Combine the potato mixture with vegetable frying and mix thoroughly.
  6. Turn on the oven 180 degrees.
  7. From minced meat with wet hands we form balls - meatballs, put in the freezer for a few minutes so that they harden a little. If you have them ready-made frozen, then you can, on the contrary, get them to thaw a little.
  8. Put the finished homogeneous potato mass in a baking dish, which we pre-grease with vegetable oil.
  9. Pressing a little into the mass, evenly lay out the meatballs and cherry tomatoes. If desired, you can attach a pattern or inscription.
  10. We put the casserole with meat balls in the oven at 180 degrees for about 40-50 minutes, depending on the oven.

Serve as an independent dish, garnished with herbs. Cold potato casserole with meatballs can also be served as a snack or an afternoon snack.
