Buckwheat porridge with minced meat and fried onions: hearty, simple and tasty

It is necessary

  • Buckwheat in portioned sachets - 3-4 pieces
  • Minced meat (chicken, pork, beef) - 0.5 kg
  • Tomato paste - 1 large tablespoon
  • Salt
  • Spices for meat
  • Vegetable oil
  • Parsley, dill, cilantro

Instructions

Step 1

Boil the buckwheat in sachets. The cooking time is always indicated on the package (usually 15-20 minutes). I recommend boiling it for 3 minutes less, because buckwheat will be stewed a little more along with the minced meat.

Step 2

While the grits are cooking, finely chop the white onion head. Lightly sauté the onions in vegetable oil in a large skillet.

Step 3

Take pre-defrosted minced meat. Spread it over a skillet with onions with a spatula and simmer over medium heat. Add some meat spices and tomato paste. Salt when minced.

Step 4

After the cooking time has elapsed, remove the bags with buckwheat from the pan with a fork, let the water drain and put in the pan with the prepared minced meat. Mix everything thoroughly. Salt to taste. Let the buckwheat porridge with minced meat and onions simmer for 2-3 minutes over low heat, covered.

Step 5

Chop finely fresh herbs (parsley, dill, cilantro) and sprinkle on the porridge when serving.
