It is necessary

    • 0.5 cups of pearl barley;
    • 5 potatoes;
    • 1 carrot;
    • 1 head of onion;
    • 2 pickled cucumbers;
    • 2 cloves of garlic;
    • 2 tbsp tomato paste;
    • vegetable oil;
    • Bay leaf;
    • black peppercorns;
    • salt.

Step 1

Pour the pearl barley into a deep bowl and rinse under running clean cold water. When the cereal is clean, pour boiling water over it and put it in a warm, dark place for 30-40 minutes so that it swells.

Step 2

Place the pot on the stove, turn on the heat and pour water into it. Pour the steamed pearl barley into a saucepan and simmer until tender. Remember to stir regularly.

Step 3

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut it into medium cubes and place in the soup. Dip a couple of bay leaves and a few black peppercorns into a saucepan.

Add salt. Be careful when adding salt, calculate its amount, taking into account the fact that at the end of cooking the soup you add pickles and pickle! Mix everything thoroughly again.

Prepare a vegetable fry. To do this, first wash and peel the carrots. Grate it on a medium grater. Peel and chop the onions. Peel and chop the garlic, or you can use a special garlic press.

Add the cucumbers to the pot 10-15 minutes before the soup is ready. At the end of the cooking process, pour in the cucumber pickle, close the lid and bring the dish to readiness.
