At present, cases of poisoning with various vegetables, fruits and even nuts have become more frequent. Sometimes a single batch of nuts goes a long way before being on the market or on the shelf in a store. You can protect yourself and your loved ones by simply washing them before cleaning.
Instructions
Step 1
Many people mistakenly believe that there is no need to wash the nuts, and if some kind of dirt, or even an infection, is present, it will not be able to penetrate through the shell. Think about the fact that if you take a nut in your hands, you will immediately get this dirt on them. As you open the shell further, you will pick up the tasty fruit with the same hands. And then what was on the surface of the nut turns out to be in your body. Therefore, a thorough water treatment never hurts.
Step 2
Rinse each nut thoroughly under warm running water. Then dry them naturally or in the microwave. You can also use a more reliable method - boiling water. Plus, you can open the nuts with ease. To do this, pour boiling water over the walnuts and leave for 20-30 minutes. Despite the high temperature, water cannot penetrate inside.
Step 3
When the water has cooled, stir them lightly in the water and remove. Dry so that there is no water on them. Now you can be not only 100% sure of their safety, but you can easily open them with a knife or fork. This is due to the fact that the fibrous layer between the shells-halves of the walnut in boiling water quickly softens.
Step 4
Peanuts have a second name - peanuts. And the very fact that it grows in the ground should be alarming whether it was washed well enough. Despite the fact that visually you will not see particles of soil on the fruits, this does not mean that they are perfectly clean.
Step 5
When buying peanuts in shells, it is enough to pour boiling water over it. Then stir the nuts with a spoon and remove. Spread evenly on a tea towel and let dry. This measure will kill germs and remove plaque from the nuts.
Step 6
Hazelnut - Hazelnuts have a fairly strong shell. Pour boiling water over the nuts and leave for 5 minutes. Move them and take them out of the water. Let dry.
Step 7
Cashews are sold already peeled from the shell, since the substance immediately under the shell is harmful to the skin, and it is rather difficult to clean them. If you purchase already peeled nuts, such as cashews, walnuts, peanuts, almonds, pistachios, etc., they should also be doused with boiling water and then dried.
Step 8
It should be noted that after processing, the nuts must be removed from the water, for example, using a slotted spoon or sieve. Do not drain the water, as dirt particles that have settled on the bottom of the bowl in which you rinsed the nuts will end up on them again.
