  • - 50 g of cheddar cheese;
  • - 1 onion.

Pancakes made from rye flour have a delicate sweetish taste. They can be served with butter and sour cream, stuffed or used to make pancake pies.

Whisk the egg yolks with salt. Heat the milk and pour it into the yolks in portions without stopping whipping. Pour in half the milk, add the rye flour and mix the dough thoroughly so that no lumps remain in it. Add the remaining milk and whisk the mixture again. Then pour in half a glass of boiling water and mix the dough well. Add a spoonful of vegetable oil.

Grease the pan with oil, pour a small portion of the batter and, tilting the pan, distribute it over the bottom. When the bottom of the pancake is browned, turn the product over and toast on the other side. Rye pancakes turn over easily, do not tear or stick to the pan. Stack finished items with butter. Finely chop the onion and fry until golden brown in a little vegetable oil. Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Place 50 g of cheese and onion in the dough. Divide the mass into three parts, collect each in a bun. Grease three molds with butter, place a portion of dough in each and leave for 1 hour for final proofing. When the bread pieces rise, brush the top with a beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake the bread in an oven preheated to 220 ° C for about 45 minutes and then chill on a wire rack.
