It is necessary

    • For 3 servings
    • 1 cup unboiled long grain rice
    • 1 sprig of rosemary
    • lemon peel (or any other citrus)
    • Bay leaf
    • black peppercorns
    • mustard seeds (optional)
    • salt to taste
    • water

Instructions

Step 1

Sort the rice thoroughly, remove the black grains and anything other than rice.

Step 2

Pour rice into a saucepan, pour cold water. Rub it thoroughly between your palms in water. As you grind, the water will become white and cloudy. Repeat the operation 4-5 times until the water becomes almost transparent. With this simple operation, we removed the excess starch. When cooked, the rice will become crumbly and will not stick together.

Step 3

Pour the rice with clean cold water so that it completely covers the cereal. Let the rice swell for 1 hour.

Step 4

Now you can start steaming the rice. If you don't have a steamer on hand, use a regular saucepan and colander. Fill a pot full with water and heat. Let it boil.

Step 5

Place a colander firmly in a saucepan over boiling water. Drain the rice pot and pour it into a colander. Do not wrinkle. Cover the pan with a lid.

Step 6

10 minutes after steaming, add rosemary, lemon or orange peel, bay leaf, peppercorns to the water (namely to the water). You can add a few grains of mustard. Along with the steam, the aromas of spices will enter the rice. It will not be so bland. The lemon rind will add a delicious sourness to the rice.

Step 7

The total cooking time for the rice is approximately 25 minutes. It is good if it remains Al dente (per tooth), slightly dense in the core. This kind of rice is the healthiest one.

Step 8

Turn off the stove and let the rice stand for another 10 minutes without removing the lid. Remove the colander from the pot and transfer the rice to a serving platter. Garnish with herbs and lemon slices.

Step 9

Steamed rice is cooked without salt, remember this. We recommend serving soy sauce along with steamed rice. This rice will be a wonderful side dish for any dish.
