The hut is not red with corners, but red with pies - so our ancestors used to say. And they knew a lot about them! You will not find many recipes for these simple dough products in old Russian cookbooks. These are closed, traditional and open pies, and kulebyaki, and cheesecakes. And sweet burgers - with honey, jam, cherries, apples, and snack bars - with fish, eggs, mushrooms, chicken. And all of them are united by the fact that the filling is wrapped in dough - yeast, puff, unleavened, kefir. And in the proposed recipe, the pies are unusual - they have mashed potatoes instead of dough.

It is necessary

    • For pies: 1 kg potatoes
    • 1 glass of milk
    • 300 g minced meat (beef and pork in equal proportions)
    • 1 large onion
    • 3 tbsp. tablespoons of flour
    • refined vegetable oil for frying
    • 2 eggs, salt
    • spices to taste.
    • For sour cream sauce: 200g sour cream
    • 1 clove of garlic
    • dill
    • salt.

Instructions

Step 1

Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Place in a saucepan, pour over the water so that the water just covers the potatoes. Cook it in its uniform until cooked through. Drain the hot water and immediately pour cold water for 1 minute - this will make the potatoes easier to peel. Peel the potatoes quickly while still hot. Mash until puree, pour in hot milk and stir until smooth. When the potatoes have cooled slightly, beat in the eggs, one tablespoon of flour and mix thoroughly again.

Step 2

Finely chop the peeled onion and fry in a pan until golden brown.

Step 3

Place the minced meat in a hot skillet with heated vegetable oil. Salt and pepper the minced meat, fry until cooked, stirring constantly. Add the onion to the minced meat and stir.

Step 4

Sour cream sauce. Pass the peeled clove of garlic through a garlic dish or grate on a fine grater. Chop the dill finely. Add chopped garlic and dill to sour cream, salt, mix thoroughly.

Step 5

Roll the potato into tangerine-sized balls. Mash each bun with your hands into a flat cake, put a tablespoon of minced meat on it. Shape the patty into an oblong shape. Dip in flour and place in a hot skillet with butter. Fry on all sides until tender. Place on a plate, top with sour cream or sour cream sauce, serve with vegetable salad.
