Marzipan is a mixture of peeled crushed almonds with powdered sugar or syrup. They are a kind of food plasticine, so they are great for sculpting cake decorations. Marzipan is fairly easy to make at home. It is especially pleasant to surprise your little household with figures of cartoon characters. You can not only sculpt all kinds of decorations from marzipan, but also completely cover the cake with it.

It is necessary

    • for the test:
    • butter (175 g);
    • sugar (175 g);
    • eggs (3 pcs);
    • vanillin (1 sachet);
    • salt;
    • lemon zest (1 pc);
    • flour (150 g);
    • starch (70 g);
    • baking powder (1 tsp).
    • For the cream:
    • fat cream (200 g);
    • bitter chocolate (200 g).
    • For decoration:
    • marzipan (50 g);
    • red food paint;
    • green food paint.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a deep bowl and mixer. Whisk in softened butter and sugar. Add a packet of vanillin.

Step 2

Whisk in one egg at a time.

Step 3

Add salt and lemon zest, stir.

Step 4

Sift flour into a separate bowl through a sieve. Add starch and baking powder to it. Mix, sift and add in three portions to the buttery-egg mixture, stirring with a mixer until smooth.

Step 5

Put the finished dough in a heart shape (capacity one liter), greased with butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 ° C for about one hour (be guided by your oven). After the time has passed, turn off the heat in the oven, remove the mold and cool the heart.

Step 6

Heat one hundred and fifty grams of cream in a saucepan until hot, but do not boil. Coarsely break or chop the chocolate and add one hundred and fifty grams to the hot cream. Let stand for one minute.

Step 7

Stir with a whisk or mixer until smooth and refrigerate until the desired consistency is obtained (the longer it cools, the thicker it becomes).

Step 8

Cut the heart in half and put the prepared cream on the bottom, cover with the second cake. Also smooth out irregularities in the heart with this cream. Cool it down.

Step 9

Do the same with the remaining cream and chocolate, but do not refrigerate, but immediately apply to the top and sides of the cake. Let it freeze.

Step 10

Color the marzipan with food paint and form a rose and leaves. Dip each petal in sugar before picking.

Step 11

Before serving, place strips of paper on the frozen glaze, sprinkle first cocoa through a sieve, then powdered sugar. Carefully remove the paper strips and decorate with a rose. The marzipan cake is ready!
