Mulled wine is the best drink to warm up quickly. It is ideal for cold winter evenings. You can do it without leaving your home and in just 5 minutes.
It is necessary
- For 6 servings:
- -cabernet or other red wine
- -1/4 cup brandy
- -1/2 cup sugar (to taste)
- Spice:
- -seed from 2 oranges
- - chopped nutmeg
- -4 cinnamon sticks
- -3/4 teaspoon cloves
- -allspice
- -anise
- -6 cardamom pods
Instructions
Step 1
Start by making the spices. On a grater, grate the zest of two oranges, chop the almonds in a mortar.
Combine all spice ingredients in a small saucepan (2 or more oranges zest, chopped nutmeg, 4 cinnamon sticks, 3/4 teaspoon cloves, allspice, anise, 6 cardamom pods). Mix everything thoroughly and arrange in small bags.
Step 2
Pour 1/4 of the water into a large saucepan, add the spices in the bag and bring to a boil. After that, gently pour the wine and reduce the heat. Simmer mulled wine under the lid on low heat for 20 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the pan from heat. Cool at room temperature. Add one cinnamon stick to each cup before serving. Bon Appetit.
