This unusual dish of stewed rabbit with dates is delicious and versatile. It can be served as a gravy with almost any side dish. The meat is stewed in wine with the addition of fragrant spices. A rabbit prepared in this way can be an unusual and interesting cold snack.
It is necessary
- - rabbit (1 pc.);
- - olive oil (50 g);
- - garlic (3 cloves);
- - onion (2 onions);
- - black pepper (to taste);
- - thyme (20 y.);
- - white wine (1 bottle);
- - dates (20 pcs.).
Instructions
Step 1
We divide the rabbit into parts. Salt and fry the meat in a preheated pan with olive oil. Fry the pieces on all sides until golden brown.
Step 2
We spread the rabbit and fry the chopped onions and chopped garlic. Pass until the onion becomes transparent.
Step 3
Return the rabbit meat, place it on top of the onion and garlic and sprinkle with thyme and black pepper. Fill all this with wine (more than half a bottle) and bring to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for no more than two hours.
Step 5
We take out the pieces of the rabbit. Separate the meat from the bones and return the fillet to the pan. Add dates, from which we first take out the seeds.
Step 6
Pour the remaining wine over the dish and simmer again for about half an hour. By this time, the wine has evaporated.
