What wine is needed for mulled wine
Wine for mulled wine should be dry or semi-dry - that is, with a low percentage of sugar. Young red wine is ideal for classic mulled wine recipes.
Sugar, which is often added to wine during cooking, is better to take unrefined cane sugar. 3-4 lbs of brown sugar per bottle of wine is usually enough, although it all depends on your taste.
Mulled wine is served exceptionally hot, in tall glasses or mugs - so that the wine does not cool down longer.

How to make mulled wine from red wine and fruits
Pour wine into a fireproof container and put on fire. As soon as the wine starts to warm, add sugar and honey to it.
Heat the juice in a separate saucepan and add spices - cloves, peppers and cinnamon. When the juice heats up to 60-70 degrees, remove it from the heat, strain and add to the wine. In this way, you will give the spices the opportunity to fully open up, give all their unique aroma to the liquid.
Cut the fruit into wedges and rinse the raisins thoroughly. When the wine warms up to about 70 degrees, add fruits and raisins to it. The mixture should sit on the fire for about 3-5 minutes, but in no case let the wine boil. The maximum temperature for making mulled wine is 60-70 degrees.
Remove the wine from heat and let it brew for a few more minutes. Pour it into tall glasses and serve. By the way, apples cooked in wine are delicious on their own. Have a nice evening in a warm company!
