Rice is a unique food that has been consumed for thousands of years. It saturates quickly and for a long time, contains complex carbohydrates, fiber, vital vitamins and minerals. Rice can be a side dish or an ingredient in dishes prepared with vegetables, meat, fish or poultry. Knowing how to cook delicious rice, you can surprise your guests with original dishes every time.
Rice with chicken and vegetables
- 600 g chicken breast;
- 8 cherry tomatoes;
- 200 g brown rice;
- 2 oranges;
- 20 g of honey;
- 100 g green beans;
- 50 g green peas;
- 1 onion;
- 1 clove of garlic;
- a few leaves of cilantro (or any other greens to taste);
- vegetable oil;
- salt and pepper.
Boil the rice for 20 minutes in salted water. Cut the chicken into small pieces, season with salt and pepper, fry with two tablespoons of vegetable oil for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Squeeze the juice of two oranges.
Peel and chop the onion. Pour boiling water over green peas and green beans for 2 minutes, then drain. Cut the tomatoes in half.
In a separate bowl, fry the onion and garlic chopped into plates with two tablespoons of vegetable oil for 3 minutes. Add the chicken, then every 30 seconds add the remaining ingredients in the following order: green beans, green peas, rice, tomatoes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, pour in orange juice and honey, simmer for 2 minutes. At the very end, add cilantro, stir and serve.
Fried rice with bacon
- 350 g of rice;
- 2 onions;
- 250 g bacon;
- 1 red pepper
- 1 clove of garlic;
- 1, 2 liters of vegetable broth;
- 5 tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- salt and pepper.
First you need to bring the vegetable broth to a boil and leave it on low heat.
Cut the onion into very thin strips, chop the garlic. Cut the bacon into medium-sized pieces and the pepper into small cubes.
In a deep frying pan, fry the bacon in a little oil until golden brown, transfer to another dish. Fry the onion in the same oil over low heat - until soft, but without discoloration. Increase the heat, return the bacon to the pan, add the garlic and pepper, simmer for 3-4 minutes, add the rice and mix well so that it absorbs all the aromas. Salt and pepper - to taste, but considering that the bacon itself is quite salty. Pour in broth, bring to a boil. After 5-6 minutes, reduce heat to low and cook the rice for another 10 minutes. Before serving, the rice should stand for a while - literally 5 minutes.
