Chickens are very nimble birds and if they are allowed to walk freely, then part of the crop will be safely tasted, and the other will be spoiled. Therefore, it is better to keep these birds in a cage or aviary from which they cannot escape to freedom. It will not be difficult even for an inexperienced master to make a cage with your own hands, because the beauty of creation is not so important to chickens as to you. Stock up on the materials you need and get to work.

It is necessary

  • - wood blocks 12 pcs.
  • -nails
  • -Rabitz
  • -wire

Instructions

Step 1

Take the bars of the length you need. It all depends on the size of the cage. For example, if you want a 1 m by 1 m cage, then the bars should have the appropriate length. A work of art will turn out to be 1 cubic meter in volume, in which 2-4 chickens can easily get along. For hens, such a living space should be at the rate of 1 chicken per cage.

Step 2

Knock down the bars into two squares, then nail the sides to make a cube. Carefully check if the nails are well driven in, if there are sharp parts, be sure to make them sideways and punch carefully with a hammer. Chickens may be damaged or even killed if any sharp spots remain, so pay close attention to this.

Step 3

Take a mesh-netting with small holes. But from what material it will be, and what color - you decide, animals still will not pay attention to it. Pre-cut it into squares of the desired size, but they should be a few centimeters wider so that there is something to nail. Secure the net to the bars with nails. The cage is almost ready, all that remains is to make an entrance.

Step 4

Cut a small hole in one side, about 25 x 25 cm. The mesh will begin to unfold, so twist the cut pieces of the wire with pliers. Use the cut out piece of mesh as an entrance. You can make the door from smaller bars, or you can simply screw on the wire and fix a small square from the netting with wire, but so that you can open the door if necessary. In this case, the door will open in one direction.

Step 5

Housing for chickens is ready, you can run them into it, but first put food and water. In principle, chickens should be raised in an aviary. If you are going to keep them in a cage, do not forget to lay wooden planks on the floor, because it will be inconvenient for them to walk on the wire. You can also add some straw.
