Flatbread called "Lefse" is originally from Norway. There, this dish is prepared quite often. I suggest you do this too. Such cakes can not only replace bread, but also become a delicious dessert if you add more granulated sugar to the dough than indicated in the recipe.

It is necessary

  • - mashed potatoes - 2 glasses;
  • - wheat flour - 0.5 cups;
  • - butter - 1 tablespoon;
  • - cream - 1 tablespoon;
  • - granulated sugar - 0.3 teaspoon;
  • - salt - 0.3 teaspoon.

Instructions

Step 1

Boil the peeled potatoes until cooked, then grind them with a potato grinder until puree. By the way, for the preparation of Lefse flat cakes, you can use ready-made puree, only you need to preheat it in a water bath or in a microwave oven.

Step 2

When the mashed potatoes are warm, add the following ingredients to it: cream, granulated sugar, and salt along with butter. Mix all the ingredients together into a mass with a homogeneous consistency. After placing the resulting mixture in the refrigerator, refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step 3

After 15 minutes, remove the potato mass from the refrigerator and add the wheat flour to it. Stir the dough until smooth, then knead it on a prepared work surface.

Step 4

Form small pieces of the resulting potato dough and roll them around the diameter of the pan in which you will cook Lefse cakes. Pay attention to the thickness, it should not exceed 5 millimeters.

Step 5

In a skillet with hot sunflower oil, fry the rolled cakes on both sides. It is quite simple to determine their readiness - they will acquire a golden-ruddy color.

Step 6

After cooling the dish, serve it to the table. Lefse cakes are ready!
