It is necessary

  • - A bottle of red semi-dry wine
  • - Lemon
  • - 0.5 liters of strong black tea
  • - Sugar
  • - Spices to taste
  • - Fruit to taste

Instructions

Step 1

Open the wine bottle. It is not necessary to buy a very expensive drink, as its taste will be masked by the rest of the ingredients anyway. This recipe is ideal even for those who have bought wine that cannot be drunk without grimacing. It is important that you do not poison yourself with them.

Pour the contents of the bottle into a saucepan and turn on the heat. Add a few tablespoons of sugar to the wine. (If the wine is dry, it is desirable to increase the amount). Of the spices, cinnamon and cloves, which are classic in this drink, must be present. However, if you are a fan of cardamom, nutmeg, ginger, or fennel, you can add those as well. It is necessary to use the so-called "warm" seasonings, which will go well with the wine. Add them too and stir everything thoroughly.

Step 2

It is very important not to let the mulled wine boil, otherwise the wine will be spoiled. As soon as small bubbles begin to appear on the surface, which indicates heating to a high temperature, pour half a liter of tea previously brewed in a separate bowl into a saucepan. Use black, unflavored tea, preferably loose leaf tea.

The lemon should be cut in two. Squeeze one straight with your hands into the pan, cut the other into slices and throw into the pan. Stir again.

Step 3

When the liquid is reheated and is close to boiling, turn off the heat. Cover the brew with a lid and let it sweat for a few minutes.

While the mulled wine "reaches", cut an apple, orange or other fruit pleasant to you into small pieces. Pour a few teaspoons of this fruit salad into glasses. Traditionally, mulled wine is served in irish - transparent glasses with a stem with a convenient handle on the side, but in the absence of irish, you can use any dish.

Pour the drink into glasses using a ladle. If you wish, you can decorate the glass with a lemon wedge or insert a cocktail tube.
