As you know, the main dishes of the festive Easter table are kulich, cottage cheese Easter and boiled colored eggs, but these dishes are often its decoration and the dishes are almost always untouched. Therefore, the question of what to cook for Easter is very relevant. Previously, a lot of dishes were always prepared for Easter, and in non-poor families the number of dishes was equal to the number of days of Great Lent - 48. The basis of the table was meat dishes, for example, homemade sausage and boiled pork, baked duck or goose stuffed with apples or prunes, suckling pigs and etc. The food was always served cold, and the first meal took place immediately after the arrival from the church at night. After defending the service, people came home, ate thick oatmeal jelly, seasoned with vegetable oil, and always ate one egg, a slice of Easter and a slice of sweet cake. A richer table was collected in the morning and was not cleaned all day, since on the Bright holiday it was customary to visit relatives and friends, without an invitation to sit down at the table and feast on treats.
