The breast is the healthiest part of the chicken, and it's a pleasure to cook it. This is done quickly and easily, but you still need to follow the recipes, because white meat is easy to dry out. Make two marinated skewers with chicken breast, make delicious strips as good as in a fast food restaurant, or bake a fragrant pastroma.
Tender chicken breast skewers in two types of marinade
Ingredients for 600 g white chicken meat for the first marinade:
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce;
- 2 tbsp. olive oil;
- 1 tbsp. honey;
- half a lemon;
- 1 tsp dried basil.
For the second marinade:
- 1, 5 Art. kefir or yogurt;
- 2 onions;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 1/3 tsp ground black pepper;
- 1 tsp salt.
Wash the breast fillets, dry and cut into large, uniform slices. Choose the marinade you like and soak the white meat in it for at least 2 hours. For the first recipe, whisk soy sauce with lemon juice, olive oil and slightly warmed honey, and season with dried basil. For the second, mix kefir with finely chopped onions, crushed garlic, pepper and salt.
Preheat oven to 200oC. String the chicken pieces onto wooden skewers. Coat a baking sheet with vegetable oil, place the kebabs on it, pour over the rest of the marinade and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Garnish them with vegetables, rice, or fries.
Appetizing chicken breast strips
Ingredients:
- 400 g chicken breast fillet;
- 80 g unsweetened cornflakes without glaze;
- 1 chicken egg;
- 1/2 tsp salt + a pinch;
- vegetable oil.
Prepare the chicken fillet, cut it into even long strips and rub with salt. Break an egg into a bowl, add a pinch of salt and shake with a fork or whisk. Place the cornflakes in a sturdy plastic bag, place them on a cutting board, and roll them with a rolling pin several times to create coarse crumbs. For a spicy breading, add a little red pepper. Transfer everything to a flat plate.
Heat the vegetable oil and sauté the chicken strips in it, dipping the meat in the egg and rolling in the chopped flakes, until golden brown over medium heat. Prepare a sauce of your choice for them, such as tomato, creamy, or blue cheese.
Flavored chicken breast pastroma
Ingredients:
- 4 fillets (halves) of chicken breasts;
- 1 liter of cold water;
- 2 tbsp. salt;
- 3 tsp each dried oregano, basil, sweet paprika, ground coriander and beans;
- 1/2 tsp red pepper;
- 3 tbsp. vegetable oil;
- 1 tbsp. mustard.
Dissolve the salt in water and soak the chicken breasts in it for 2 hours. Place them on a paper towel and pat dry. Coat cuts of meat with vegetable oil and mustard and rub with dry spices. Transfer them to an ovenproof dish or cast iron skillet and place in an oven preheated to 250oC. Cook the pastroma for 15 minutes, no more, then turn off the stove, but do not open the oven for 6 hours. Remove the cooled dish and cut into chunks.
