The "Mimosa" salad is not only very tasty and appetizing, but it is also a wonderful decoration for a festive table. It is quite simple to prepare it; you do not need any special culinary knowledge for this.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g of canned saury;
  • 3 medium carrots;
  • 4 potato tubers;
  • 200 g of mayonnaise (it is better to use your own preparation);
  • 1/3 teaspoon vinegar
  • 6 chicken eggs;
  • 1 head of onion;
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • salt.

Preparation:

  1. Rinse the potatoes and carrots thoroughly in running water and put them in a small saucepan. Pour vegetables with water and place on a pre-hot stove. After the liquid starts to boil, you need to reduce the heat.
  2. Vegetables should be cooked until cooked, and you can check it with a simple toothpick. To do this, you need to pierce the root vegetable and if a toothpick enters it without much effort, then the vegetable is ready.
  3. After the carrots and potatoes are cooked, they should be removed from the water and cooled.
  4. Place the chicken eggs in a separate saucepan with water and place on the stove. After boiling, cook for about 10 minutes. Then transfer them to a cup and cover with cold water.
  5. For this salad, you will need pickled onions. The onion should be peeled and cut into not very large cubes with a sharp knife. Place the onion in a small cup with boiling water and ½ part of a small spoonful of salt, vinegar and granulated sugar. Onions should be marinated for at least a quarter of an hour.
  6. You can start preparing the dish. Open the canned food and remove almost all the liquid. Then transfer the contents of the jar to a salad bowl and chop the fish with a fork. Coat with mayonnaise.
  7. The second layer is eggs, or rather whites (first pull out the yolks and remove them separately). They are crushed with a grater. This layer should also be coated with mayonnaise.
  8. Peel the boiled carrots and chop using a grater. Lay in an even layer over the whites. Salt a little and apply a layer of mayonnaise again.
  9. Drain the marinade from the onion and cover the carrots with it evenly. And on top of it is laid a layer of boiled potatoes, also shabby on a grater. Potatoes need to be salted and smeared with mayonnaise.
  10. Then use your fingers to crush the remaining yolks and garnish the salad with them. Put the dish in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, and then you can serve it to the table.
